Hiking - Walking: Morzine Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Wednesday 31st January – walk ***** Lac Montriond – sunny periods.
I went to the market eventually with Jay, Rob and Pauline which was a bit
underwhelming but the tiny rescue pig, goat and rabbit were cool and Jay
made a donation:)
Dan went skiing on his own and the others went for part of the day. There
was a kerfuffle over the bloomin door keys because when we went to go to
Lac Montriond in the van we couldn’t lock the door so had to bolt it from
the inside and everyone was locked out until Dan came back with the top
floor key. We were ok at the lake apart from not having our lunch which
was inside the apartment in our rucksack.
We took Rob, Arlo, Jay and Pauline. It was really beautiful because it
was very icy and the trees looked amazing as well as the lake. Arlo was a
star as usual. What a happy little boy he is.It was about two and a half
miles around the frozen lac on a pisted path but it was difficult to push
the buggy. We even saw some fish in the only melted section where the river
comes in. There was a row of igloos here and Rob goes over to investigate
slipping as he enters one:) Went up to the waterfall and had a quick walk
to that – it was beautiful and there was loads of snow up there!! Came
back and ate our lunch and played with Arlo. Curry for tea then Rob Dan
and I went to an Ice hockey match in the town – it was brilliant, really
enjoyed the match, exciting, fast end to end action with lots of goals too
even if Morzine lost the match:( Great to be out with my boys, a great time
was had by all even if Dan did hate the very high suspension bridge we
crossed to get to the rink and because of the large numbers crossing it
swayed badly making everyone walk like drunken sailors!!!
